Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Beth Henley's Crimes of the Heart is a warm, irreverent, funny and touching drama about three passionate Mississippi sisters, who, in trying to escape their past, embrace their future.


Join OCTA as we wrap-up our season with the Magrath sisters of Hazlehurst, Mississippi in this dark comedy. Babe, the youngest, is out on bail having shot her husband in the stomach; Meg, the middle girl, is back in town from the west coast where her singing career fizzled; and Lenny, the oldest, faces diminishing marital prospects. Mix in Barnett, a young lawyer smitten with Babe and trying to keep her out of jail, and Chick their priggish cousin, and you have dark hilarity as the sisters try to escape their pasts in hopes of seizing their futures. This Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning play is guaranteed to bring laughter, tears, and an evening of unforgetable entertainment.
